20-year-old Russell Schiller (IG) is a white sophomore advertising major at Howard University. According to a profile on BeyondBlackWhite.com Schiller is “a Wisconsin native who grew up in a predominately black neighborhood” and hasalways had an affinity for black women, to his mother’s dismay.
Schiller recently launched the #BlackWomenAreBeautiful photography campaign, shooting images of his Howard classmates. In a video for the Howard University News Service, Schiller explains his motivation;
“I find a very deep beauty within black women and I wanted to finally portray that, and I also wanted to capture that elegant beauty of what is black women and really teach people that this is something we need to appreciate, whether it be dark, light, big, small…
